NLH Partnership mailing and newsletter list

We've had some great feedback from our clients - below are just a few examples:

"Working with NLH Partnership has been extremely effective. The support we have received has been an asset to delivering our services with high quality. The reports that were produced were integral to our Ofsted inspections. NLH Partnership has many skills to offer and with their flexibly and adaptability the centre was able to influence change in practice amongst the team. I have truly valued their input and expertise."

Nazmin Mansuria, Children's Services Manager, Barnardos Children's Centres

“Myself and a colleague attended ‘Effectively Tracking Children’s Centre Impacts’ training as I have never found an effective way of producing evidence for the work that our Children’s Centre delivers.  We really enjoyed this motivational, thought-provoking training that was delivered in a clear and concise manner, leaving us feeling inspired and motivated to put the practical ideas and pathways into practice. This will aid us in obtaining the evidence, showing the impact and tracking the outcomes for the SOA’s that our Children’s Centre serves.”

Diane Hatton, Children’s Centre Manager, Rushden Children's Centre

“I have attended three of Nigel Lloyd’s workshops over the past two years and have found them incredibly helpful...It was a revelation for me to understand clearly for the first time exactly what OfSTED were asking Children’s Centres to provide...I have used the information gained from all three workshops and incorporated the strategies into daily practice. I would highly recommend NLH Partnership to other professionals working in the Early Years sector, not just for the workshops but for the friendly and professional way in which the workshops were delivered.”

Zoe Harris, Children’s Centre Manager, Spencer Nursery School and Children's Centre

"We worked with NLH Partnership on an evaluation of the pilot Health Research Support Service (HRSS).  The work involved recruiting at two sites, and conducting focus groups or interviews with patients and health care professionals, analysis of these data and the production of a report on the findings.  Due to factors outside of our control the work had to be completed over a very short period of time.  It was delivered on time and to a high standard.  NLH Partnership were a pleasure to work with throughout. I would definitely recommend them."

Dr Fiona Stevenson, Senior Lecturer, University College London.

"A hugely useful day. Lots of practical information & tools. I’m feeling much more confident preparing & demonstrating impact of our work for Ofsted under the new inspection  framework."

Janine Hodges, Manager, Riverside Childrens Centre, attendee - Effectively Tracking Children's Centre Impacts workshop

Support for Children's Centres

NLH Partnership specialises in supporting Children’s Centres in developing their services, measuring their effectiveness, consulting with their service-users, and developing the skills of their staff and partners.

Since setting up in early 2006, we have successfully completed many dozens of Children’s Centre research, evaluation, training, consultation and development projects for local authority, health, charity, voluntary and community sector clients, as well as conducting Children’s Centre and early years projects for national Government.

Prior to setting up NLH Partnership, its Director Nigel Lloyd, was a National Coordinator for the ‘Support’ module of the National Evaluation of Sure Start (NESS), with responsibility for coordinating evaluation support for the 153 Sure Start Local Programme partnerships across London, the East and South-East regions.  NLH Partnership can therefore draw on more than a decade of valuable experience in supporting Sure Start Children’s Centres.

The projects we deliver for Children’s Centres are very varied, and include:

  • Support with preparing for Ofsted inspection, and particularly with effectively measuring and tracking Children's Centre impacts.
  • Development of outcomes frameworks, and robust systems, processes and tools to allow for the effective collection and use of Children’s Centre performance evidence.
  • Development of bespoke impact/outcome measurement tools for Children’s Centres to enable them to effectively capture and track the specific outcomes of their services.
  • Delivery of research, evaluation and impact measurement workshops and training events for strategic and operational staff, managers and partners (find out more about our training/workshops here).
  • Conducting community surveys and consultations with local parents/carers.
  • Conducting Children’s Centre research and evaluation projects to measure the impacts of Centres’ work.
  • Planning, performance management and outcomes measurement consultancy and support.
  • Children's Centre service reviews and service-redesign work.

Please take a look at our ‘Projects and clients’ page for more detail about some of the projects we have completed.

Workshop:  Tracking the impacts of targeted Children's Centre services

Evidence of the impact of targeted services is an increasingly important part of the data and evidence Children's Centres are required to collect.  This workshop focuses on providing attendees with effective strategies, methods and tools for measuring and tracking the impacts of ‘targeted’ Children’s Centre services, including:

  • Outreach and family support services
  • Targeted services delivered by Children’s centres
  • Targeted services delivered by Children’s Centre partner agencies.

The workshop provides attendees with a clear understanding of precisely what monitoring and impact data they need to collect, and in what format, in order to effectively measure the impacts of their different types of work with target/priority families.   Particular focus is placed on how to effectively demonstrate the difference that outreach and family support services have made, and on the key data and evidence needed to show these impacts.

All workshop attendees receive a copy of an Excel template that they can utilise immediately, or develop further, in order to track their work with target families in receipt of outreach and family support services.  The event is led by NLH Partnership’s Director, Nigel Lloyd

We currently have 0 of these events scheduled.

Workshop: Effectively tracking Children's Centre impacts

Effectively tracking the impacts of Children's Centre work for children and families is an increasingly important part of the assessment of Children's Centres' performance, and high quality tracking evidence is required in order to gain a 'Good' or 'Outstanding' Ofsted inspection grade.

This workshop provides attendees with clear, practical guidance for developing and implementing effective systems and processes for tracking Children's Centre impacts, as well as a thorough understanding of how to effectively meet key Ofsted tracking requirements.  The workshop enables attendees to take a leap forward with tracking the impacts of their Children's Centres.

The event is led by NLH Partnership’s Director, Nigel Lloyd, who has used his vast experience of research and evaluation, and ten years of experience of Sure Start and Children’s Centre impact and outcome measurement, to design an event focused on meeting the specific needs of Children’s Centres.

We currently have 0 of these events scheduled.

NLH Partnership Masterclasses: Measuring Children's Centre impacts and outcomes

This hugely successful, one-day Masterclass was completely updated in 2016.  It's aimed at anyone involved in the development, delivery and management of children's services, and will enable attendees to take a leap forward with measuring the impacts and outcomes of their work.

The event is led by NLH Partnership’s Director, Nigel Lloyd.

We currently have 0 of these events scheduled.

Workshop: Developing effective methods and tools for measuring Children's Centre outcomes

Many Children’s Centres find it difficult to develop tools and measures to effectively assess the outcomes of their services.  We've been developing outcomes measurement tools for Children’s Centres for many years and this workshop takes attendees through a step-by-step, 'how to' of effective outcomes measurement tool development.  Attendees leave the workshop with a fully illustrated ‘Outcomes Tool Development Template’ - a template for developing effective outcomes measurement tools - as well as examples of fully developed outcomes measurement tools for capturing Children’s Centre outcomes.

The event is led by NLH Partnership’s Director, Nigel Lloyd.

We currently have 0 of these events scheduled, but are happy to deliver this event in-house for your team or organisation.

Workshop: Measuring Children's Centre Impacts and Outcomes - Readymade tools to take away and use

The workshop introduces attendees to a range of high-quality, validated, easy-to-use, quantitative, outcomes measurement tools, selected specifically to meet the needs of Children’s Centres. These tools can be used to measure the outcomes of a range of common Children’s Centre services and areas of work, as well as for the measurement of ‘distance travelled’ and for assessing the outcomes of ‘holistic’ support for families.

The workshop focuses on practical learning and provides a full introduction to the tools. Interactive sessions give participants an understanding of how to effectively use the tools, and how to easily analyse and interpret the resulting data. Attendees leave the workshop with a range of free outcomes measurement tools that they can begin using straight away.

The workshop is led by NLH Partnership’s Director, Nigel Lloyd.

We currently have 0 of these events scheduled, but are happy to deliver this event in-house for your team or organisation.
